Mounting-conglomeration

疝瘕 〔疝瘕〕shàn jiǎ

Also conglomeration-mounting. From Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, yù jī zhēng cáng lùn).

1. Smaller abdominal heat pain with discharge of white sticky fluid from the urethra; attributed to wind evil transforming into heat and passing to the lower abdomen to bind with dampness.

Medicinal therapy: Treat with formulas such as Poria Five Powder (五苓散 wǔ líng sǎn).

2. A swelling of the abdomen that moves under pressure and is associated with abdominal pain stretching into the lumbus and back; attributed to wind-cold and binding with qì and blood in the abdomen.

Medicinal therapy: Treat with medicinals such as fennel (Foeniculi Fructus, 茴香 huí xiāng), fenugreek (Trigonellae Semen, 胡芦巴 hú lú bā), morinda (Morindae Officinalis Radix, 巴戟天 bā jǐ tiān), aconite main tuber (Aconiti Radix, 川乌头 chuān wū tóu), toosendan (Toosendan Fructus, 川楝子 chuān liàn zǐ), and evodia (Evodiae Fructus, 吴茱萸 wú zhū yú).
