走窜 〔走竄〕zǒu cuàn

(Of medicinals) tending to move and penetrate blockages. Agents that move qì and quickenthe blood, free the channels and quicken the network vessels, or free the orifices and freethe spirit, such as costusroot (Aucklandiae Radix, 木香 mù xiāng), musk(Moschus, 麝香 shè xiāng), borneol (Borneolum, 冰片 bīngpiàn), camphor (Camphora, zhāng nǎo), long-stamen onion (Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus, 薤白 xièbái), pangolin scales (Manitis Squama, 穿山甲 chuān shānjiǎ), and gleditsia thorn (Gleditsiae Spina, 皂角刺 zào jiǎo cì). Such medicinals are generally aromatic, acrid and dispersing, or warm and bitter.
