Measles toxin falling into the lung
麻毒陷肺 〔麻毒陷肺〕má dú xiàn fèi
Measles in which, after disappearance of papules, contraction of wind evil causes the measles toxin to fall into the lung. The signs are high fever, cough, hasty breathing, phlegm rale, flaring nostrils, and green-blue lips.
Medicinal therapy: Diffuse the lung and outthrust the evil; clear heat and resolve toxin. Use
If heat is pronounced, add anemarrhena (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, 知母 zhī mǔ), scutellaria (Scutellariae Radix, 黄芩 huáng qín), isatis root (Isatidis Radix, 板蓝根 bǎn lán gēn), houttuynia (Houttuyniae Herba, 鱼腥草 yú xīng cǎo), lonicera (Lonicerae Flos, 金银花 jīn yín huā), and forsythia (Forsythiae Fructus, 连翘 lián qiào).
