漂 〔漂〕piāo

Steeping materials in clean water that is continuously replaced to eliminate toxic constituents, salts, or malodor, or to remove foreign matter. Sargassum (Sargassum, 海藻 hǎi zǎo), cistanche (Cistanches Herba, 肉苁蓉 ròu cōng róng), salted aconite (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Salsa, 咸附子 xián fù zǐ), and pinellia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 半夏 bàn xià) are processed in this way.
