Insects that have found their way into the ear should be removed as quickly as possible. Drip oil, scallion juice (Allii Fistulosi Herbae Succus, 葱汁 cōng zhī), garlic juice (Allii Sativi Bulbi Succus, 蒜汁 suàn zhī), or alcohol into the affected ear, and remove the insect, taking care not to damage the ear drum.
