Hundred-union disease

百合病 〔百合病〕 bǎi hé bìng

Also lily-bulb disease. A disease resulting either from residual heat in febrile disease or from fire forming in patients suffering from depressed qì due to emotional frustration. In either case, the pathomechanism involves damage to the humor of the heart, and lung and yīn vacuity with internal heat. Clinical manifestations include mental abnormalities such as abstraction, as well as bitter taste in the mouth, reddish urine, and a pulse that is faint and rapid.
