Hemorrhoid point picking
挑痔 〔挑痔〕tiāo zhì
Picking of points on the back to treat hemorrhoids. Patients with hemorrhoids are often found to have hemorrhoid points, i.e., small tiny papular protuberances on the back (from vertebra C7 down to L4+5). These are of a white, red, or brown coloration that does not fade when pressed.
Method: Choose papules close to the spine and at as low a position on the back or lumbus as possible. Use a thick needle to pick open the papule, and then pick out ten or so of the fibers visible within the rupture. Apply a dressing.
