Heart vacuity and gallbladder timidity

心虚胆怯 〔心虛膽怯〕xīn xū dǎn qiè

Also heart-gallbladder vacuity timidity. A feeling of emptiness in the heart and susceptibility to fright and fear. Vacuous heart and timid gallbladder usually occurs in insufficiency of heart blood and heart qì debilitation and is partly related to mental factors.

Biomedical correspondence: observed in anemia and neurosis.

Medicinal therapy: Nourish the heart and quiet the spirit, or warm the gallbladder and quiet the spirit. Compare gallbladder vacuity.
