蛊 〔蠱〕 gǔ

1. Toxin of poisonous chóng (insects, reptiles, etc.) damaging the liver and spleen and causing blockage of the network vessels and manifesting in the form of drum distension (gu distension).

2. Sexual taxation in males.

3. Lesser abdominal heat pain with white turbid urine.

4. Poison derived from insects used in ancient times to harm others, as mentioned in the Zhōu Book of Rites (周礼 zhōu lǐ).
