Frequent sighing

善太息 〔善太息〕shàn tài xī

A long deep audible exhalation, reflecting an effort to relieve stuffiness in the chest due to weariness, relief, or frustration. Frequent sighing reflects inhibition of qì dynamic that is most commonly associated with depressed liver qì, but that may also indicate qì vacuity. Compare great respiration.
