Drowsiness after eating
食后困顿 〔食後困頓〕shí hòu kùn dùn
Desire to sleep occurring after eating, or, in severe cases, before the end of meal. It occurs in spleen qì vacuity with fatigue, lack of strength, withered-yellow facial complexion, poor appetite, abdominal distension after eating, unsolid stool, and a pale enlarged tongue. It results from phlegm-damp encumbering the spleen with heaviness of the head and body, glomus and oppression in the chest and stomach duct, small intake of food, sloppy stool, sticky unpleasant sensation in the mouth, fat body, a white slimy tongue fur, and a soggy moderate pulse.
