Disease of the child affects the mother
子病及母 〔子病及母〕 zǐ bìng jí mǔ
The five-phase law that disease can spread from one bowel or viscus to the other in reverse sequence of the engendering cycle. The classic example of this is when liver-wood disease affects kidney-water, giving rise to aching lumbus and knees, dizzy head, tinnitus, and seminal emission or menstrual irregularities.
