Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid, astringent, and slightly numbing; slightly cold; slightly toxic.

Actions and indications: Joins sinew and bone; treats the blood; reduces inflammation; relieves pain. Treats bone fractures; knife wounds; burns; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Grind to a powder (3–6g). Topical: Apply crushed.

Warnings: Contraindicated in pregnancy.
