Use: Medicinal

Category: Heat-clearing agents / Heat-clearing toxin-resolving agents

Properties: Bitter, acrid; cold.

Channel entry: Heart, liver, and stomach channels.

Indications:

Dosage & Method: Oral: 15–30g in decoctions. Fresh zǐ huā dì dīng is also applied topically.

Warnings: Contraindicated in vacuity cold; use with care in yīn patterns of sores.

Notes: This is the most common kind of Viola used medicinally.
