Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter; cool; slightly toxic.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and dries dampness; fortifies the stomach; strengthens the heart. Treats toxin swelling of welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores; painful red swollen eyes; vomiting and retching; diarrhea and dysentery; heart palpitation; sleeplessness; epilepsy.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g). Topical: Grind and sprinkle on the affected area.
