Properties: Acrid; hot; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Heart and spleen channels.*

Actions and indications: Warms the center, disperses cold, opens the stomach (increases the appetite), and disperses food. Treats cold stagnation abdominal pain; vomiting and retching; diarrhea; frostbite; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn).

Warnings: Contraindicated in vacuity fire with effulgent fire, cough, and eye diseases.
