Properties: Bitter and acrid; cool.

Channel entry: Lung and kidney channels.*

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin; dispels wind and disinhibits dampness; soothes the sinews and frees the network vessels. Treats common cold with high fever; coughing of phlegm and blood; rheumatic arthritis; jaundice; vaginal discharge; stone strangury; injury from knocks and falls; swollen boils and sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g) or steep in wine. Topical: Decoct as a wash.

Production area: Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Fújiàn, Yúnnán, Guìzhōu, Sìchuān, Jiāngxī, Húnán.
