Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid and slightly bitter; warm.

Channel entry: Stomach and liver channels.*

Actions and indications: Dispels wind and transforms phlegm; precipitates qì and relieves pain. Treats cough and panting; summerheat-heat; stomach pain; mounting qì (shàn qì); vaginal discharge.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g), grind to a powder, or steep in wine.
