Properties: Acrid*; balanced*; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Rectifies qì; transforms dampness; quickens the blood; stanches bleeding; disperses accumulations; resolves toxin. Treats stomach pain; jaundice; bloody stool; menstrual irregularities; child food accumulation; clove sores (dīng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–15g dried, 30–60g fresh), grind to a powder, or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed, or grind and apply mixed.
