Ratti Norvegici Faeces

牡鼠粪 〔牡鼠糞〕 mǔ shǔ fèn

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Salty and bitter; cold; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Liver, kidney, and large intestine channels.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and frees stasis; abducts turbidity and moves stagnation. Treats cold damage taxation relapse heat effusion; concretions and conglomerations; abdominal pain; strangury-turbidity (lìn zhuó); amenorrhea; gān accumulation; breast welling-abscesses (yōng); shǔ lòu clove sores (dīng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (4.5–9g) or grind to a powder. Topical: Burn and grind.
