Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and acrid; balanced.

Actions and indications: Diffuses the lung and transforms phlegm; disperses food; disinhibits water. Treats cough with copious phlegm; food accumulation; qì stagnation; glomus and oppression in the stomach duct and abdomen; water swelling; panting and fullness; dysentery with inability to eat.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–30g) or use in pills. Topical: Decoct as a wash.
