Properties: Sweet*; cool*; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Spleen and stomach channels.

Actions and indications: Clears summerheat and resolves heat; allays thirst; disinhibits urine. Treats summerheat-heat with vexation and thirst; short voidings of scant urine; water swelling; mouth and tongue sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–30g) bake dry and grind. Topical: Calcine preserving nature and grind to a powder.

Warnings: Contraindicated in cold strike and exuberant dampness.

Production area: All parts of China.
