Properties: Sweet; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and disinhibits urine; promotes sweating and relieves pain. Treats common cold and heat effusion; urinary tract infection; nephritic edema; conjunctivitis; hepatitis; wind-damp lumbar and thigh pain; mounting qì (shàn qì) pain.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (30–60g).
