Properties: Sweet; warm; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Heart, liver, lung, and kidney channels.

Indications:

• Quiets the spirit and settles fright; Disquieted heart spirit; fright palpitations and fearful throbbing; fright epilepsy convulsions.
• Warms the lung and calms panting; Lung cold cough and panting.
• Warms the kidney and uterus: Debilitation of original yáng with uterine cold infertility; flooding and spotting; vaginal discharge.

  Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (6–12g); use in pills or powders.

  Warnings: Do not use use for extended periods. Contraindicated in infertility due to yīn vacuity with effulgent fire, in heat in the blood aspect, and in cough due to lung heat.

  Product Area: Gānsū, Shānxī, Jiāngsū, and Húběi.
