Properties: Salty; cold.

Settles fright; abates fever; brightens the eyes; stanches bleeding. Quickens dead blood (ground to a powder, taken with wine in doses of one fen).

Notes: This agent is now used as a substitute for 羚羊角.

Product Area: Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, Héběi, Shǎnxī (Shaanxi), Shānxī, Húběi, Zhèjiāng, Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Tibet, Sìchuān, and Yúnnán.
