Actions and indications:

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–12g) or prepare as a paste.

Warnings: Unsuitable for spleen-stomach vacuity. This medicinal is highly moistening and has little qì-supplementing effect; hence it cannot be used as a substitute for 党参.

Quality: Best are thick heavy solid roots with smooth semitranslucent yellowish skin.

Production area: Jiāngsū, Zhèjiāng, ānhuī, Jiāngxī, Húběi, Sìchuān.
