Properties: Salty; cold.
Channel entry: Liver, stomach, and kidney channels.
Indications:
- Disperses phlegm and softens hardness: Goiter, scrofula, painful swollen testicles.
- Disinhibits water and disperses swelling: Leg qì (jiǎo qì) with puffy swelling; water swelling.
Dosage & Method: Oral: 6–15g in decoctions; also used in powders and pills.
Quality: Best is thick green kelp that is clean of foreign matter.
Product Area: Fújiàn, Shāndōng, Guǎngdōng.
