Properties: Sweet; cold.

Indications:

Moistens the lung and transforms phlegm; disinhibits qì and loosens the chest.

phlegm-heat cough; painful pharynx; chest pain; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); nosebleed (nǜ xuè); dispersion-thirst (xiāo kě); constipation; welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores; toxin swellings.

Dosage & Method:

Oral: Decoct (9–12g); use in powder preparations. Topical: Calcine preserving nature, grind to a powder, and apply mixed.
