Crustacean lindernia

母草 〔母草〕 mǔ cǎo

Origin in unofficial sources: Lindernia crustacea (L.) F. Muell.

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Slightly bitter and bland; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; resolves toxin. Treats common cold; acute and chronic bacillary dysentery; enteritis; welling-abscesses (yōng), boils and clove sores (dīng).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–9g dried, 30–60g) or grind to powder or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed.

Production area: Southern China.
