Properties: Acrid and slightly bitter; warm; slightly toxic.

Indications:

Breaks the blood, disperses accumulation, and softens hardness.

amenorrhea; difficult delivery; retention of the placenta; glomus lumps; dysphagia-occlusion (yē gé); toxin swelling of sores; bones stuck in the throat.

Dosage & Method:

Oral: Decoct (3–10g) or use in pills and powders (1.5–3g). Topical: Apply ground.

Warning:

Contraindicated in absence of accumulations and in pregnancy.

Quality:

Plump seeds are the best.
