Origin in unofficial sources: Kalopanax septemlobus (Thunb.) Koidz.

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; balanced; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Spleen and stomach channels.*

Actions and indications: Dispels wind, eliminates dampness, kills worms, and quickens the blood. Treats wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain; pain in the lumbus and knees; welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū), sores, and lichen (xiǎn).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g). Topical: Decoct as a wash, apply crushed, or grind and apply mixed.
