Indications:

  • Breaks stasis and settles fright: Concretions and conglomerations; fright epilepsy (jīng xián).
  • Frees the stool and attacks toxin: Constipation; sores; welling-abscesses; toxin swelling.

    Dosage & Method:

    Oral: Decoct (0.9–2.4g).

    Warning:

    Contraindicated in pregnancy.

    Quality:

    Thoroughly dry, black, undamaged ones are the best.

    Product Area:

    Jiāngsū, Zhèjiāng, Héběi, Húběi, and to a lesser extent Fújiàn, Guǎngdōng, and Guǎngxī.
