Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and sour; slightly cold.

Channel entry: Heart, liver, and spleen channels.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin; disperses stasis and disperses swelling. Treats toxin swelling of welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū); injury from knocks and falls; snake and insect bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g dried, 60–120g fresh). Topical: Apply crushed.
