白地紫菀 〔白地紫菀〕 bái dì zǐ wǎn

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid and slightly bitter; balanced.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; rectifies qì and transforms phlegm; disperses accumulations and kills worms. Apply topically to stanch bleeding. Treats dysentery; stomach pain; common cold and cough; panting with copious phlegm; indigestion; hookworm infestation; tonsillitis.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Grind to a powder and sprinkle on the affected area.
