- Fortifies the spleen and opens the stomach: Spleen vacuity with reduced eating. Dào yá (稻芽 Oryzae Fructus Germinatus, rice sprout), from Oryza sativa L., has similar actions to gǔ yá and in southern China, where rice is more common than wheat, replaces gǔ yá.
Dosage & Method:
Oral: 10–30g in decoctions. Stir-fry it to harmonize the center or use it raw to disperse food.
