Actions and indications: Dispels wind and clears heat; quickens the blood and resolves toxin. Treats influenza; whooping cough; measles failing to erupt; tonsillitis; sand qì (shā qì) abdominal pain; wind-damp bone pain; nosebleed; blood strangury; injury from knocks and falls.

Quality: Fine roots that are reddish brown in color are the best.

Production area: Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Fújiàn.
