- Rectifies qì and relieves pain: Qì stagnation in the chest and diaphragm; glomus and oppression in the stomach duct.
- Warms the kidney and invigorates yáng:
Kidney yáng vacuity. with limp aching lumbus and knees and impotence.
Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct 3–6g; also used in pills and powders.
Warnings: Use with care in yīn vacuity with yáng hyperactivity.
Quality: Evenly sized brown bodies that have a high oil content and have not been eaten by other organisms are the best.
Production area: Sìchuān, Guìzhōu.
