Category: Water-disinhibiting dampness-percolating agents / Water-disinhibiting swelling-dispersing agents

Properties: Sweet and bland; balanced; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Heart and spleen channels.

Indications:

Quiets the heart and the spirit; disinhibits water.

heart vacuity fright palpitation; forgetfulness; insomnia; fright epilepsy (jīng xián); inhibited urination.

Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g); use in pills and powders.

Notes: This is the poria enveloping a pine root.

Quality: Thick solid sclerotia with fine pine roots are the best.
