Indications:
- Promotes sweating and resolves the exterior: Mild patterns of common cold caused by external contraction of wind-cold.
- Disperses cold and frees yáng: Treats exuberant yīn repelling yáng. In this condition, exuberant yīn cold is reflected in reversal cold of the limbs, a faint pulse, and diarrhea. The repulsion of yáng is characterized by a red facial complexion, vexation and agitation.
- Additional actions: Cōng bái when applied topically to the breasts also disperses binds and frees the network vessels to promote lactation in the treatment of breast milk stoppage with painful distended breasts.
Dosage & Method:
Oral: 3–10g in decoctions.
