Indications:
- Moistens the intestines and frees the stool:
Intestinal dryness constipation. - Disinhibits water and disperses swelling: Water swelling with distension and fullness; leg qì (jiǎo qì) (beriberi); puffy swelling.
Dosage & Method:
Oral: 6–12g in decoctions; also commonly made into pills.
Warning:
Use with care in pregnancy.
Quality:
Undamaged plump pale yellow or white seeds with out husk and not exuding oil are the best.
