Properties: Bitter, slightly sweet; cold; slightly toxic.

Indications:
- Clears heat and resolves toxin: Diphtheria; painful swollen throat; sore toxin; snake venom.
- Strengthens the heart and disinhibits urine: weak heart with water swelling.
- Cools the blood and staunches bleeding: expectoration of blood; vomiting of blood; flooding and spotting.
Dosage & Method:
Oral: 3–8g (30g of fresh product). Topical: Appropriate amount.
Warning:
Contraindicated in pregnancy. In general, use with care since it may produce adverse reactions including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, oppression in the chest, dizziness; cold limbs.
