Properties: Bitter; cold.

Indications:

Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; cools the blood and stanches bleeding; disperses swelling and resolves toxin.

diarrhea and dysentery; painful swollen throat; heat strangury-turbidity (rè lìn); vaginal discharge; vomiting of blood (blood ejection) and nosebleed (nǜ xuè); bloody urine; bloody stool.

Dosage & Method:

Oral: 10–15g. If using the fresh product, 30–60g; can be taken as a juice. Topical: Apply the ground product ground or the fresh product crushed.

Warning:

Use with care in vacuity cold diarrhea and dysentery and in pregnancy.
