Indications:
- Clears heat and resolves toxin; disperses swelling and relieves pain: Welling-abscesses (yōng) swelling; clove sores (dīng); snake and insect bites;
external injuries with bleeding; painful blood stasis swelling. - Extinguishes wind and settles fright:
Liver heat engendering wind ; fright wind; epilepsy.Dosage & Method:
Oral: Decoct 5–10; use with smaller amounts in pills and powders. Topical: Appropriate amount.

Use with care in vacuity patterns and pregnancy.

Paris polyphylla: Jiāngsū, Zhèjiāng, Fújiàn, Jiāngxī, ānhuī, Húběi, Sìchuān, Guìzhōu, Yúnnán, Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī. Paris chinensis: Yúnnán, Guǎngdōng, Húběi, Sìchuān, Shǎnxī (Shaanxi), ānhuī, and Jiāngsū. Paris quadrifolia: Shānxī. Other species and varieties are confined to Yúnnán and Guǎngdōng.
