Indications:

  • Clears heat and resolves toxin: Venomous snake bites; bee and scorpion stings; welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū), and clove sores (dīng chuāng).
  • Disinhibits water and disperses swelling: water swelling; drum distension.

    Dosage & Method:

    Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Apply crushed or squeeze juice.

    Warning:

    Contraindicated in vacuity pattern water swelling.

    Quality:

    Best are dry plants with green leaves and yellowish roots and free of extraneous matter.
