Indications:
- Clears heat and resolves toxin; disperses welling-abscesses and expels pus: Swollen welling-abscesses due to heat toxin.
- Dispels stasis and relieves pain: Pain in the chest and abdomen due to blood stagnation (i.e., mild blood stasis).
Dosage & Method:
Oral: 6–15g in decoctions.
Warning:
Contraindicated in spleen-stomach vacuity with reduced appetite and diarrhea. Side effects include dizziness, nausea, and temporary reduction of white blood cells. Some sources say that it should be used with care in pregnancy.
Quality:
Clean, dry, leafy, aromatic plants are the best.
