Stomach-Calming Poria Five Decoction [1]
胃苓汤[1] 〔胃苓湯[1]〕wèi líng tāng

Ingredients:
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 6–9g
- Zhū líng (猪苓 Polyporus , polyporus) 6–9g
- Zé xiè (泽泻 Alismatis Rhizoma, alisma [tuber]) 9–12g
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 6–9g
- Guì zhī (桂枝 Cinnamomi Ramulus, cinnamon twig) 3–6g
- Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) 6–9g
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) 6–9g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 3–6g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 1–3g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 1–3g
- Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 3–5 pieces
Action: Dries dampness and fortifies the spleen; disinhibits water and percolates dampness.
Indication: Damp turbidity obstructing the center with distension and pain of the stomach duct and abdominal, diarrhea, short scant urinary voidings, and sometimes swelling. Tongue fur: White and slimy. Pulse: Soggy and fine.

Method: Decoct with water.
Notes: This is a combination of Wǔ líng sǎn (五苓散 Poria Five Powder) and Píng wèi sǎn (平胃散 Stomach-Calming Powder).
