Five Stranguries Powder
五淋散 〔五淋散〕 wǔ lìn sǎn

Ingredients
- Chì fú líng (赤茯苓 Poria Rubra, red poria) 18g
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 15g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 15g
- Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 60g
- Zhī zǐ (栀子 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit]) 60g
Actions: Clears heat and and cools the blood; disinhibits water and frees strangury.
Indications: Insufficiency of kidney qì and heat in the bladder rough painful urination. Specifically indicated for unctuous strangury or heat strangury but can be used for any of the five stranguries (qì, blood, stone or sand, unctuous, and taxation strangury, corresponding with biomedicine to urethritis, cystitis, and urinary calculi).

Method: Grind to a fine powder.
Dosage: Take 6g at a time, boiled in water.
