Ass Hide Glue and Egg Yolk Decoction
阿胶鸡子黄汤 〔阿膠雞子黃湯〕 ē jiāo jī zǐ huáng tāng

Ingredients
- Ē jiāo (阿胶 Asini Corii Colla, ass hide glue) (melted and drenched) 6g
- Shēng bái sháo (生白芍 Paeoniae Radix Alba Cruda, raw white peony [root]) 10g
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 12g
- Jī zǐ huáng (鸡子黄 Galli Vitellus, egg yolk) 2 pieces
- Shí jué míng (石决明 Haliotidis Concha, abalone shell) 15g
- Shēng mǔ lì (生牡蛎 Ostreae Concha Cruda, crude oyster shell) 12g
- Gōu téng (钩藤 Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis, uncaria [stem and thorn]) 6g
- Luò shí téng (络石藤 Trachelospermi Caulis, star jasmine stem) 10g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 12g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
Actions: Nourishes the blood and enriches yīn; emolliates the liver and extinguishes wind.
Indications: Blood vacuity stirring wind after yīn-blood has been damaged by persistent evil heat. Signs: hypertonicity of the sinews, vermicular movement of the fingers, and sometimes dizziness. Tongue: Crimson with scant fur. Pulse: Fine and rapid.

Method: Decoct all agents except the ass hide glue and egg yolk with water. Melt the ass hide glue in the strained decoction, and then stir in the egg yolk.
