Source: Shāng Hán Lùn 伤寒论

Ingredients:

• Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb) 15g
• Tíng lì zǐ (葶苈子 Lepidii/Descurainiae Semen, lepidium/descurainia) 15g
• Máng xiāo (芒硝 Natrii Sulfas , mirabilite) 15g
• Xìng rén (杏仁 Armeniacae Semen, apricot kernel) 7.5g

Action: Clears heat and precipitates; disinhibits water and eliminates glomus.

Indication: Accumulation of water in the chest and rib-side with glomus, fullness, and pain, as well as dry bound stool and short voidings of scant urine.

Method: Grind and make into pills.

Dosage: Take 3g at a time infused in honey water with 0.9g kansui.
