Four Milled Ingredients Beverage
四磨饮 〔四磨飲〕sì mò yǐn

Ingredients:
- Rén shēn (人参 Ginseng Radix, ginseng) 1.5–3g
- Bīng láng (槟榔 Arecae Semen, areca [nut]) 6–9g
- Chén xiāng (沉香 Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, aquilaria [wood]) 3–6g
- Wū yào (乌药 Linderae Radix, lindera [root]) 6–9g
Action: Precipitates qì and downbears counterflow.

Method: Originally, the agents were ground and decocted separately, and then boiled again together and taken warm. Today, it is simply prepared as a decoction.
Rationale: Bīng láng nut and Chén xiāng precipitate qì and downbear counterflow, thereby calming panting. Wū yào rectifies qì and loosens the center. Rén shēn boosts qì and supports right qì and prevents the qì-moving agents from dispersing right qì. For patients whose right qì is strong and suffering from more severe qì stagnation, the Rén shēn can be replaced by Mù xiāng and
